Mercedes-Benz Coilovers: C-Class, E-Class and AMG
Mercedes coilovers fit most C-Class and E-Class cars, but the factory suspension decides which kit you need. Airmatic air suspension, electronic dampers and 4MATIC all change the listing, so check those three before you look at brands.
We list C-Class and E-Class kits from BC Racing, KW, Fortune Auto, Bilstein and Ksport, plus AMG models from the C43 to the E63. What we do not do is guess. On a Mercedes, the wrong kit may not bolt up, or may not suit the car's factory systems. Below is what our listings say, sorted by the factory system your car came with.
Every fitment here comes from the title of our own product listing. Confirm your car on the product page, or call 1-800-460-9106 with your VIN before you order.
Start With Your Factory Suspension
Three questions narrow the list fast.
Does it have Airmatic? Airmatic is Mercedes' air suspension. Many listings exclude it outright. A few BC Racing kits are built to convert it to coilovers.
Does it have electronic dampers? Some KW listings come in two versions, with and without electronic dampers. Many of the "with" titles say a cancellation kit is included, but not all do, so call us to confirm what your car needs. Several Bilstein B14 PSS listings exclude cars with electronic or self-leveling suspension.
RWD or 4MATIC? Many listings split by drivetrain. Ksport, KW and BC Racing all list 4MATIC cars separately on several generations.
Your VIN answers all three. That is why we ask for it on every Mercedes call. Once you know the factory system, the right coilover kit is usually one or two listings, not twenty.
Airmatic: Exclusions and Conversions
Airmatic shows up most on the E-Class. Here is how our listings treat it.
Excluded. BC Racing's 2003 to 2009 E-Class sedan kit excludes Airmatic. KW's W211 and W212 sedan listings exclude air suspension. Several Ksport E-Class, CLK and CLS listings exclude Airmatic too.
Converted. The BC Racing 2002 to 2009 E-Class Airmatic kit is RWD. Its title says the conversion requires OEM rear steel spring lower control arms. BC Racing's 2004 to 2009 E-Class wagons, RWD and AWD, also say OEM rear steel spring lower control arms are required. Their titles do not mention Airmatic, so call us to confirm what your wagon needs.
Partly covered. BC Racing's 2010 to 2016 E-Class sedan RWD excludes Airmatic front. The wagon includes Airmatic rear and excludes Airmatic front. Read those titles closely.
Newer cars. BC Racing lists 2017 to 2023 E-Class kits for the W213 and C238 with Airmatic, in RWD and AWD versions.
An Airmatic conversion coilover kit is more work than a straight swap. Plan time for the extra parts the title names, and expect an alignment at the end.
Electronic Dampers and Adaptive Damping
Many later C-Class and E-Class cars came with electronic dampers. A passive coilover has no wiring, so it cannot work with that system. The listing has to account for it.
KW handles this with separate listings. The KW W204 C-Class sedan kit with electronic dampers includes an EDC cancellation kit. A matching KW listing covers cars without electronic dampers. KW also lists with and without versions for the W204 C350 coupe, the C207 and A207 E-Class, and several W205 C-Class versions. Some W205 "with" titles name no cancellation kit, so confirm what is included before you order.
Bilstein takes the other route on its B14 PSS listings for these cars. Most name cars without electronic or self-leveling suspension. Some W203 B14 PSS titles also say wheel spacers may be required.
If you are not sure what your car has, do not guess. Our guide on coilovers and electronics explains how passive kits and factory systems interact. Then call us with your VIN.
C-Class Mercedes Coilovers by Generation
The classic 190E has a following of its own. BC Racing lists it for 1984 to 1996. KW lists the 190 E and 190 D for 1984 to 1993, and Feal lists the W201 190E.

Ksport lists the W202 RWD and splits the W203 into RWD and AWD. BC Racing lists the 2001 to 2007 C230/C240/C320 RWD, excluding Airmatic. It also covers the 2001 to 2003 C32 AMG RWD, and Swift Springs are not available on it.
BC Racing lists the 2008 to 2014 sedan RWD, the 2012 to 2015 coupe RWD and a 2007 to 2014 AWD kit. KW splits by electronic dampers and lists the 4MATIC separately. Fortune Auto lists the C-Class RWD with front end links. Bilstein lists B14 PSS kits without electronic suspension.
BC Racing lists the 2015 to 2021 sedan RWD and an AWD kit that excludes Airmatic. It also lists the 2017 to 2022 coupe RWD. KW lists sedan, coupe and convertible, RWD and 4MATIC, with and without electronic dampers. Bilstein lists a B14 PSS for the C300.
BC Racing lists the 2022 to 2025 sedan RWD and a W206 sedan AWD kit.
E-Class and AMG Notes
For the E-Class, KW lists the W210, W211 and W212, plus the C207 coupe, A207 convertible and C238 coupe. On the W213, KW lists the E300 sedan 2WD and the E300 and E400 4MATIC. Bilstein lists B14 PSS kits for several W212 and W213 models, such as the Bilstein B14 PSS for the W212 E350, E400 and E550. BC Racing lists the 2017 to 2022 sedan RWD, the 2018 to 2022 coupe RWD and an AWD kit. Fortune Auto lists the 2002 to 2009 E-Class RWD (W211) with a separate style rear.
AMG cars get their own listings. Read them carefully.
C63 (W204). The BC Racing C63 AMG kit covers the 2008 to 2014 sedan and 2012 to 2015 coupe, RWD. KW lists the C63 sedan and coupe. Fortune Auto lists the C63 RWD with front end links.
C43 and C63 (W205). BC Racing lists the C43 AWD and the C63 S coupe. KW lists the C43 sedan and coupe and the C63 and C63 S with electronic dampers.
E55 and E63. BC Racing lists the 2000 to 2002 E55 sedan and a kit covering the 2003 to 2006 E55 and 2007 to 2009 E63. It also lists the 2014 to 2015 E63 AWD and the 2014 to 2016 E63 wagon AWD. The 2003 to 2009 title does not mention Airmatic, so call us with your VIN before you order.
Older AMG. KW lists the W202 C43 and includes AMG on its W210 V8 and W211 listings. Bilstein lists B14 PSS kits for the C32 and C55. BC Racing's 2001 to 2007 C-Class kit includes the 2001 to 2003 C32 AMG RWD.
Swift Springs, Setup and Brand Fit
Many BC Racing Mercedes listings carry a Swift note. Swift Springs SPEC-R springs are an upgrade option on most BC Racing fitments. On these cars, many titles say Swift Front Only. A few say Swift Springs Not Available, including the 2000 to 2002 E55 and the 2010 to 2016 E-Class coupe, convertible, sedan and wagon.
Setup on a Mercedes is about poise, not just looks. Keep the drop modest. There is no single safe drop for every car; it depends on wheels, tires and travel. On full-length kits like BC Racing and Fortune Auto, ride height is set at the lower mount and the spring perch sets preload. Tighten every locking collar and recheck after a few hundred miles. Get an alignment after any height change. Start damping from the kit's manual setting, and remember spring rate and damping both shape comfort. Our guide on how coilovers affect ride quality goes deeper.
A coilover kit does not automatically cut unsprung weight. The wheel, tire, brakes and hub make up most of it, and big AMG brakes and wheels are a large share.
Brand fit comes down to how you use the car. KW brings German engineering, TÜV certification on most kits and OE-supplier credibility through its Mercedes-AMG program. Bilstein invented the monotube damper and supplies OE dampers to Mercedes-AMG. BC Racing uses nitrogen-charged monotube dampers, with 30-click simultaneous compression and rebound on the BR Series. Fortune Auto hand-builds in Virginia with custom valving. New to coilovers? Start with what are coilovers.
